Academy Award-winning actor Tom Hanks has allegedly extended the boundaries of his property on the Greek island of Anitparos without legal permission.

The actor is rumoured to have moved the boarders by 20 square metres.

The property was purchased by Hanks and his wife of Greek descent, Rita Wilson, a few years ago and is considered to be one of the most valuable pieces of land on the tiny Cyclades island near Paros.

Back in February, an apparent inquiry was made into the incident by Greek official Georgia Yangelidou and Chief Coast Guard Elias Kountromihalis.

The results of the inquest saw the property owners receive a 10,000 euro fine for illegally extending the boundaries of their property onto public coast land.

The judge handling the case is anticipated to call on the famous couple for a hearing into the matter.

Hanks and Wilson are currently visiting Wilson’s homeland of Greece, and have been spotted visiting the new Acropolis Museum just last week.
